Politico, le 28 février 2019, Whistleblower protection rules held up by reporting clash
France and Germany want internal reporting to be mandatory for whistleblowers.
“I remain optimistic. But if the Council persists, either the negotiations will fail or everyone will denounce a cosmetic text,” French Socialist MEP Virginie Rozière, who is in charge of the file in the Parliament, said. “Trade unions and NGOs fighting corruption would rather have no text at all than mandatory internal reporting, which would leave whistleblowers worse off.”
